Backing up your Outlook profile

By admin | Feb 1, 2005

Are you moving computers and want to move your old emails, contacts, calendar, etc. to the new one? There is an easy method to doing so. Right click on the start button in the lower left-hand corner and choose “search” (or “find”). Once the search or find screen comes up, make sure the “Look in” box contains your C: drive. Also, click on advanced options and check to “search hidden files and folders.” Search for “*.pst” - this tells it to go search for any personal file folders. Once you find the file “outlook.pst,” save it to a cd. Not the file location that it resides in. Move to the new computer and past the “outlook.pst” file in the new location.
