Phone Virus in the Wild

The Cabir virus has now become the first United States mobile phone virus in the wild. The virus was contracted on the Nokia 6600, which incorporates “smart” technology. The virus was originally authored in the Philippines, but has now spread abroad. The virus’ relatively innocuous payload includes draining the battery.

    With these new bluetooth viruses, all you have to do is walk by an infected user or outpost with your bluetooth phone or PDA and you’re instantly infected. The best part is when the cops show up at your door wondering why your phone’s been calling 911 all night.

    I take it you actually need to accept an incoming bluetooth message to get infected? Or at least leave bluetooth on permantly?
