Catch Thieves with Liquid

By admin | Mar 31, 2005

Smartwater WatermarkI read about this technology a while ago, but it seems that they are improving its applications. Smartwater is an ingenious security liquid. Yep, thieves can be totally nabbed by a liquid. SmartWater is produced by a UK based company. It is a 10 billion combination possibility chemical signature liquid. This allows for precise identification of a burglar with a particular crime. The company was started by an ex cop and a chemist. The cop was tired of catching thieves, only to see them walk. The chemist was, well, bored. So, they joined forces and now have a hot selling product. Smartwater can stay on a thief’s skin and clothes for months. …Bank robbers can be sprayed by automatic security liquid-emitting devices. Areas of high crime in the UK have seen burglary rates fall as much as thirty percent. Criminals who know they have been tagged by the liquid have been known to scrub their skin until it bleeds. But removing every last trace of the liquid is extremely difficult, so thieves are being caught wet handed.

Wow, that’s a really good idea. Much better than a coloured dye that you can see.
