Linspire LogoAre you a windows user, but getting tired of the steep prices? Or maybe you are tired of constant security warnings and occasional crashes. You have been considering switching to Linux, but you just aren’t ready to jump off the cliff. Wouldn’t it be great if you could find a happy intermediary? You could get acclimated to the Linux file system, desktop, etc. without feeling overwhelmed in it? This is where Linspire steps in. Linspire is a good segue between these operating systems. Linspire will cost you around $50. It has everything you need: IM, spam-filtering email, tabbed web browsing. And it comes complete with a whole office package, OpenOffice. …OpenOffice is an open source solution that provides for all of your typical microsoft office desires. It includes a spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software. Already have tons of office docs? No problem, OpenOffice is compatible with it! Oh, and did i mention that you will pay nothing extra for this software? You heard me right, no extra fees for the office suite. Linspire comes with all your audio/video needs already pre-packaged. The software is auto-installing for the most part. It is plug and play able. If you are sick and tired of ballooning operating system costs, this is a good solution for you. Sure, it will take some getting used to - but you will probably save $400 or more on software costs. How does that strike you?

And, if you are just ready to take the plunge, go over and check out Fedora. It might just be love and first click!
