The Sony corporation will finally roll out the PlayStation Portable system in the states this week. The system sports an incredible 4.3 inch lcd screen. The PSP can play movies, digital music and games. It also has built in Wi-Fi and could be expanded to offer internet service in the future. Wi-Fi allows for multiple player gameplay without wires, on the road. Nintendo has recently released DS, their own version of the portable playing system. Microsoft isn’t planning on releasing a portable playing system. Dan DeMatteo, vice chairman and chief operating officer for GameStop Corp., says, “They’re not in the video game business to be in the video game business. It’s the Trojan horse to get inside your living room. They own your office and they want to own your living room.” …Hence, you won’t be seeing Microsoft trying to compete in the portable market any time soon. But, in the mean time, gamers wait eagerly for the $250 PSP. The only complaints I’ve heard of the system is that the screen is glossy and gets smudged easily. Otherwise, PSP is an amazing player that offers unprecendented graphics.
