Remote DesktopHave you ever wanted to reach your XP Professional machine from the road? You can with remote desktop. Xp professional incorporates a remote desktop service that allows you to connect from disparate networks. If you are on a win 9x or win2k machine, you can still download the remote desktop client. You also have to allow remote connections to your XP Professional box. Click on Start>Control Panel>System(If in classic mode).

Remote DesktopOnce in Sytem, click on the remote tab. Allow remote connection to this machine.
Remote AccessIf your network incorporates a hardware firewall and/or router, then you will have to set it up to forward the appropriate ports. Just remember, once you allow remote desktop, anyone with the client could possibly connect to your computer. You must make sure you have a complex password in place.
