Thel LaserIt looks like those soldiers are wielding a spotlight, ready to illuminate escaping prisoners. You could think that, but you would be wrong. Meet THEL, or Tactical High Energy Laser. This bad boy can shoot down high velocity objects, i.e. missiles. THEL has been effective at stopping short range missiles, but lacks the capability to destroy long range missiles because it isn’t mobile. That’s where MTHEL comes in. Mthel Laser…Fueling the laser will cost far less than typical, kinetic weapons. It is powered by deterium fluoride chemical magazines which will be housed in trucks. So, in essence, the truck is the magazine. Two magazine trucks can be hooked into the laser truck to provide a total of 40 pulses. When the magazines are expended, simply roll some more trucks up to the laser truck and hook them up. If you are wanting more technical information, go check out NorthropGrumman’s MTHEL site.
