Level 5 Networks claims they have produced a network processor that allows for gigabit transmission over ethernet. They also plan on releasing a 10 gigabit processor next year. The processor also boasts sub 10 microsecond latency times, as opposed to the normal 50 microsecond. The processor is 100% binary compatible and network architects can simply plug them in. This product will offer great customer value.
does that mean I could run this over cat-5e or 6 ?
yes, either. thought initial board costs will be high – so corporations will be first on board. thanks for stopping by gnu-tella.
