HD DVD production

HD DVDToday Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Hitachi, and Hayashibara Biochemical Laboratories, Inc. have figured out a way to mass produce hd dvd’s on standard dvd production lines. The technique uses an organic dye made specifically for blue laser applications. Hitachi and Mitsubishi will commercialize HD DVD-R by spring of next year, at release of the hd dvd readers. …Sony has been developing a rival format, blu-ray. Sony will put the new format dvd drive in its playstation 3, which is due for release also in the spring.
