According to the Mainichi Daily News, Japanese police have arrested a Chinese exchange student who stole items from defeated characters using bots he had created in the game Lineage II. The bot hack creates a normal player with abnormal qualities. The character automatically defeats other characters and steals all their possessions. The defeated characters find themselves unnable to rejoin the game. These stolen items can fetch between $21-$73 from bidders. Sometimes fact is stranger than fiction.
