Google+M$ = Ouch!

By admin | Dec 10, 2005

Google DesktopRemember way back when people were decrying the possible security issues with installing Google Desktop? Remember how folks were saying that if someone could hook into that process that it would be a great remote search tool? Yeah, I remember that too. Google shooed them away. Remember how everyone, it seems, says that Internet Explorer sucks and that it is seemingly riddled with security issues? Yeah M$ always pushes back on that one. By the way, did you know that Korea may ban M$ from distributing it’s Operating System in the near future if they don’t strip out messenger and some other things? Yeah, Korea Communications issue. Anyway, it seems that an Israeli security researcher has come up with a way to exploit a vulnerability in IE and Google Desktop. This allows him to perform remote queries on your machine if you go to a malicious web site. Ouch! The good news is that Google patched their stuff really fast. Bravo Google.
