Riya Photo RecognitionJennifer Granick, of Wired, has a good article entitled “Face It: Privacy is Endangered.” In the article, she highlights the technology of the Ojos company - called Riya. Riya is face recognition software for photos. They have a program that you can use to recognize and organize your own photos. You can share it with friends and use each other’s work on learning the photos. This is great, but it does bring up some serious issues in the future. People will be able to find out so much about you, including what you, and what your family, looks like. …That can be a scary thought. Now, push that out a little further and connect it to a killing machine robot. Yeah, sounds like terminator - sounds fake. But, I can guarantee that this will come into play with military applications.
