This is me pulling up the lcd screen/keyboard of my Tecra 8100. I had an issue with the power jack - I had to force the plug to one side to keep power. As my battery lost its charge capability a long time ago, the computer kept shutting off. Ouch. That’s one sure way to kill your hard drive. Anyway, I did a disassemble of the Tecra 8100, desoldered the joints on the power jack, and soldered a new one on. Soldering is actually new to me, but it wasn’t hard. You basically just need some desoldering braid to get the old solder off, a new roll of solder, and a solder gun. Maybe some old hands at soldering can share their wisdom here ;>) In any case, I threw together a pdf doc on how to disassemble the entire enchilada for your enjoyment. Yeah, it’s a rough copy, but it does the job!
…
PS - I explain an issue with the Tecra 8100 not booting - and how to fix it, in case that’s an issue with you.

If that’s possible where should I look for Howto Reference, after read this article I smell the possibility.
