Touchlight Blazes 3D Interaction

By admin | Jul 20, 2006

Touchlight.jpgEon Reality, Inc. is a virtual reality and interactive 3D management company. They make the virtual world a reality. Yeah, sounds cheesy, but their new product is pretty cool. Basically, you can hand manipulate a projected image. The image above shows it pretty well. You can turn the image, zoom, “click” on it to change aspects, etc. Touchlight will primarily be used in EON’s existing commercial, automotive, aerospace and defense industry product lines. These are primarily display units to showcase new technologies.…The imaging utilizes rear projection onto a thin display. And the motion sensors are three specialized video cameras behind the display. These pick up hand movements with a 3D space that allows for image manipulation on the display. You can expect to see integration into stores within a few years.

See a video of the display in action.
