There have finally been some media releases about the battery recall that I posted about. I posted about the Dell battery recall recently and now people are responding. I also wanted to alert folks to the fact that it also affects HP and Compaq products as well. HP is saying that 15,700 batteries worldwide are affected by this recall. The models affected are:

If your battery begins with L3 code, as shown above, discontinue use immediately. Go to HP’s battery replacement page to get a new one. Or, you can call (888) 202-4320 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday.
