There are a host of spy software on the market today. This lets folks spy on their kids, spouses, employees, etc. It can capture emails, web site visits, keystrokes, chat sessions, etc. Some of the uses of these spy programs are legitimate, some are dubious, and some are simply unethical. But how many of us look at hardware spy technologies? Key Catcher is a small, unobtrusive keylogging device that could silently log keystrokes.

If you’re a worried parent who wants a super fast and easy way to check up on your kids, this may work for you. It’s obviously up to your discretion on whether this is a good way to do that. Key Catcher comes in PS/2 and USB models. It can hold up to 162 full pages of keylogging information. Simply plug the Key Catch between your keyboard and the PS/2 or USB slot, wait a week, and retrieve. Once you retrieve Key Catcher, you simply plug it into your computer, enter a password, and view the information. It’s that easy. Obviously, any technology that can be used for legitimate purposes can also be used for illegitimate ones as well.

Wow. I definitely would not want my parents to be snooping on me in such means. Although technology makes it easy for us to do some major data snooping, that does not mean it should be done. That is the equivalent of being a hacker. I hope they come up with a way to block this type of security vulnerability like they have with email and other sensitive documents (I’m talking about encryption). Because if parents think about using this product, anyone will.
