Well, I think we could all see this coming. Microsoft has pressed charges againt a cracker with the pseudonym of “Viodentia.” He’s the guy, um group, uh woman, who made FairUse4WM. It’s kind of a strange thing that they would be suing someone who is nameless. Nothing like chasing a phantom. This has the makings of a good movie. So, Microsoft is flexing its muscle in two primary ways.
…
Microsoft is tailing the ISP’s that are housing the cracker jack software. They are hoping that “Viodentia” works diligently on cracking and recklessly on covering the tracks. It will be interesting to see how long this police chase runs. So, M$ cracks down the technical whip, but wait, there’s more. They bring in the legal team to pulverize the infidel, infidels, oh - who knows. And I thought for sure that they were going to try to nail him, her, uh, them for cracking the DRM. But, do you know what they’re actually going after “Viodentia” for? It’s for stealing source code. Very, very interesting. “Viodentia” put out a statement saying that s/he, them, it didn’t steal the source code. Wowzers. The plot thickens.
