This past weekend took me to a family member’s house that is located far into the country. Around 11pm I went outside to grab a drink from the cooler. I happened to look up at the sky and was amazed. It was a super clear sky and I could see what seemed like millions of stars. I have so much light pollution where I live and can never see that many stars. But when I can see those heavenly bodies I wish I knew more about them. That’s where SkyScout comes into play. It’s your personal tour guide to the sky.

The SkyScout utilizes GPS technology which senses what you’re looking at. This allows it to draw upon its database of 6,000 celestial bodies for information. And the cool thing is that it has a USB hookup so that the database can be updated. SkyScout talks you through constellations, star by star. It also gives you voice and text information about history, names, etc. It’s got a really rugged design and a two year warranty. So, if you’re like me and lack the time to study up on all those night time objects that you find intriguing, you just might like to invest in SkyScout.
