I have used Avast for a while now, well over 2 years. It's done a pretty good job and has a very professional, polished interface -- I've experienced surprisingly low amounts of system slowdown, even on my older computers (I have two oldies -- one P3-500 running 98SE and another running 2000). The free version is pretty comprehensive, just doesn't include script scanning/blocking (which would be nice). Of course, if you want that, you'll have to go with their fee-based Pro version. But overall, it's pretty nice.....

I have been using AVG for over 2 years now. It's done a great job but unfortunately they won't be continuing the free version from Jan, 07. Has anyone used Comodo? Any reviews would be good.

I have been a faithful user of avg for a couple of years but I received an email a few months a go that they were phasing out their free edition in 2007.
