You might not have heard about ThinkFree Office. Most people haven’t. But Google sure has. Actually, they have been talking extensively with ThinkFree Office about acquisition. Why in the world would powerhouse Google want to speak to someone you have never known? It’s all about portable docs. You see, document collaboration is a huge market. If you can help people share and collaborate documents, you will have a winner. This is especially true if you can access those docs from anywhere. Now you can see why Google is setting its sights on this product. It’s a Microsoft Office killer.

ThinkFree allows you to create word processor, spreadsheet, and presentations very easily. The interface is really impressive, as I will show you later. ThinkFree allows you to have 1GB of storage, which can be upped in various ways. This allows you to store your docs from anywhere. You can create folders and organize your documents very easily and nicely.
The user interface is very impressive. It is java based and pretty much looks like what you would expect from a desktop application, except the crashing window. You can almost anything that you could do with your regular office documents. My best suggestion is for you to sign up and check it out.
One of the best parts about ThinkFree is the collaboration and sharing components.

Sweet! I love thinkfree. Google’s Docs & Spreadsheets is nice, but it doesn’t have the cohesive feeling of thinkfree’s online office. Still, there’s room for improvement from both sides…maybe together they could really make that MS Office killer!
