Jinzora Means Media Galore

jinzora.JPGOne of the things that I will be looking at soon is a network media solution. I just got finished putting the junction box in the basement for ethernet, coaxial, etc. Another part of that piece will include HD TV in the future. It’s funny because I really don’t like watching television, but I’m putting this capability in. That’s because it’s tech and I can learn! Anyway, back to the matter at hand. I am looking into different possibilities this system. I will have a centralized media server that will handle video and music files. These will be streamed throughout the network. I am also needing a pvr program for HD content, but that’s another issue. Jinzora looks like a pretty good option for getting this stuff on the network.

Jinzora is a web based media server application. You can set it up to use a mysql database for the media catalogue. This makes the server quick. Then you can stream the music and videos anywhere you want. On a computer you simply open the appropriate web page and select the media you want from the catalogue. And it’s all free! No, not the music, but Jinzora. Here are the supported media types:

Audio
* MP3/MP4
* Ogg Vorbis
* WMA
* Midi

* M4A
