apple-tv.jpgApple announced that the Apple TV is now shipping. Mac fanatics and converts alike will like the functionality wrapped up in a nicely designed, small shell. Apple makes a real foray into the home multimedia space with this box. As usual, Apple goes for simplicity of installation and simplicity of use. The Apple TV box offers HDMI and component output. That covers folks who have a TV with the HDMI standard and those without it. And Apple TV nicely syncs with iTunes on other computers. Though it will be interesting to see if iTunes can step up to the plate.

Apple TV can sync with a computer on the network or it can stream with any connected computer on the network. And, yes, Apple TV utilizes 802.11 n wireless protocol, so you won’t have to watch your video stop and start as it buffers. Apple TV brings iTunes to the home theater.
