I can remember the days of no caller ID. That was good and bad. One of the great things was that you could prank call people with impunity. Just pick a name, preferrably a really funny name, in the phone book and it was showtime. But it was also really fun to try to prank call a friend. One of the old standards was to try to sound like a girl (which in junior high isn’t that hard!) and have a fun time embarrassing our friends. But now technology has stepped to the plate to allow us sophisticated prank calling…er, voice modulation.

But gamers are really starting to use voice morphing technology to enhance online gameplay. They offer a variety of software packages. The pro version includes background sounds that allow you to mimic a traffic jam or being in a mall. And you can buy different sound packs like male voices, female voices, monster voices, space voices, computer sounds, farts, dwarf voices, giant voices, ancient weapon sounds, farm animal noises, and comic sounds.
