The designers of some elevators include a hidden feature that is very handy if
you’re in a hurry or it’s a busy time in the building (like check-out time in
a hotel).
While some elevators require a key, others can be put into “Express”
mode by pressing the “Door Close” and “Floor” buttons at the same time. This
sweeps the car to the floor of your choice and avoids stops at any other floor.
This seems to work on Most elevators that I have tried! Most elevators have the
option for this to work, but on some of them the option is turned off by whoever
runs them. This is a rather fun hack, so the next time you are on an elevator,
give it a try, you have nothing to lose, And this concludes Hacking Elevators 101!
Elevators that have been tested and worked on:
Otis Elevators (All But The Ones Made In 1992),
Dover (Model Numbers: EL546 And ELOD862),
And Most Desert Elevators (All, But Model Numbers ELD5433 And ELF3655)

I’ll definitely give this elevator a ride for your money. I’ve been on some that simply won’t go where I want to go until they have stopped at every floor up and down….others, like fossils, hardly move and then only when someone else does something to awaken the beast. Thanks!
Cool, but I have to object to the statement that “you have nothing to lose” when you send invalid input to a computer which can lock you in a box for a few hours if it wants.
Interesting, i’l certainly give it a try next time i’m in an elevator on my own…
OK Its 9:07 am
I just went up and down on this little hack.
Im on the top floor, I went straight from the top floor to the bottem and back again.
I am really going to try it before I go home (rush hour).

Hmmm…does that mean you have to hold the two buttons until you actually reach your floor? Or can you depress them momentarily together and then kick back and watch all the other occupants’ faces while you scoot past their floors?
Heres another elevator hack…
Once you get in, jump up and down. This will trigger the weight sensors and close the doors immediately.

Mythbusters here, good luck finding the specific elevators you think this works on. If there are no hall calls, you will stop at the call you pushed in the car.
comment #1: those are known as jewish elevators, on the sabbath day they will stop at every single floor so no one has to push a button.

comment #7. good luck. loadweighing is a lot different than that. a 170lb person wont be able to create a force equal to 3500lbs for a relatively long period of time.
If you press close door and emergency together, you force close the doors.
It is great to use when some jerk holds the elevator by throwing his leg or arm across a closing elevator door.
The drawback is getting blood splattered on yourself after the elevator chops of the guys limbs.
Yeah, and if you press “53412″ on an ATM machine all the money comes out.
