Canon CameraAre you tired of your old background? Would you like some new icons to spruce up your desktop? Does this sound like a commercial for some new medical drug? Even if you did only answer “Yes” to the last question, I have a web site that is easily worth checking out. Home to one of, if not the, most extensive repository of desktop backgrounds, new icons, and other awesome graphical enhancements, InterfaceLIFT is easily one of my most favorite sites.

InterfaceLIFT
This website has everything from simple desktop backgrounds to Mac OS X themes and Windows Visual Styles. The desktop background storage system has easily over 1000 different backgrounds to choose from, ranging from 320 x 240 pixels (iPod) to HDTV (1080p at the highest) and Dual Monitor (2560 x 1024) set-ups. You can also choose from a wide variety of icons for Mac and Windows machines. What makes InterfaceLIFT so great is that the extensive selection isn’t just from 3d rendering or Photoshop, but many photography enthusiasts convert their work (most of it beautifully) to backgrounds. You can find everything from “HDR signposts” to rendered Nautilloids.

If you want an editor’s choice, I personally find this one to be particularly attractive, but there is no end to the amount of amazing pictures you can find on that site. Go ahead and nose around; you’re bound to find something fitting your taste.
