Sony Vaio G1 Solid State Laptop

By admin | Apr 20, 2007

sony-vaio-g1.jpgSony has come out with a solid state version of their really great Vaio G1 laptop. This means really fast boot times and operation without the fragility of standard hard drives. Depending on the configuration, this little gem will weight between 2-3 lbs. It has a 12 inch screen, but it makes up for it in its portability. Heck, you and your friends could play frisbee with this thing and boot it up afterwards. It’s only available in Japan, unless you go and buy it at a place like Dynamism. The higher end model features an Intel Core Solo U1500 1.33GHz processor. You can install 1GB of memory in this little bugger.  Forget any gaming on this laptop because it only comes with 128 megs of ram.  It does, however come with a pcmcia slot, 2 USB 2.0 slots, integrated wireless, a LAN port, VGA port, microphone, headphone port, Memory stick and  SD/MMC ports, and integrated bluetooth.  You can also get it with a DVD burner.  Pretty nice for such a small and leightweight unit.  Supposedly, the battery will last 6 hours per charge.  That may be a little optimistic, but we’ll see.
