I don’t dive much. Okay, I never dive. I’ve never really had the fancy to get into the water with predators much larger than myself. I would consider myself bait at that point. And knowing me, I would probably be absent minded and eat a whole container of beef jerky before I went under the waves. But I can see why people who do dive would love the new DataMask from Oceanic Worldwide. It provides them with much needed critical information on the go. It even has a nice interface with your computer so you can track dive data. But can it tell me if I almost became chicken nuggets for a shark?
The DATAMASK contains a miniature liquid crystal display (LCD) panel, proprietary
Digital Optic System, microprocessor, depth transducer, wireless cylinder pressure receiver, diver replaceable battery, and controlling software. The miniature LCD allows you to keep your eyes focused on the dive while presenting critical dive data including: current depth, elapsed dive time, cylinder pressure, and dive time remaining. The Digital Optic System provides a clear, highly magnified image of the LCD, which is viewable regardless of environmental conditions and may be seen clearly by the vast majority of people, regardless of vision.
