Karaoke is the drunk person’s delight. Okay, so it’s also the delight of millions of other people. I remember looking around for a free karaoke player and karaoke song files, with the .kar extension, a few years ago. My options were very limited at that time. Since then, many more options have come online (some literally). Many folks want to have a karaoke party at their house or just offer it as an option for folks. Before you pony up the dough for a karaoke machine, why not just use some software to do the work for you? You can hook your computer up to your TV and theater system and be rockin’ and rollin’ in no time!
Okay, I have three options for you today. There are many more out there. But I went for convenience and ease of use first.
Karaoke Play - This is a cool online community of folks who love karaoke. You can record your karaoke songs online. You could simply do a small karaoke party on this - though seeing the words could be difficult. If you are wanting to display your skillz to the world, this could be your chance. Heck, you could even embed your karaoke onto your blog. Some have voice overs and some don’t. So, take a look around. I’ve noticed that there are a lot of people with American Idol syndrome on there. Man, friends tell friends that they suck at singing!
KSolo - Another online karaoke site that features a combination of non-voiced over files and voice overs. Some are really funny.
This Is Karaoke - Yet another online service. This one requires you to register to actually check it out.
SimsOnStage - More Karaoke for you with some video mashups from the Sims. Kind of makes me want to yell, “Get a First Life!”
Ronan’s Online Karaoke - If you want super cheasy midi karaoke, this is right up your alley. Some enhanced files are on there which sound more realistic, but most are pretty bad. But, if you want a super easy way to go, this could be it.
VanBasco - This is actually the piece of software that I used years ago. It doesn’t contain any spyware/malware and works well. The pain is getting all the .kar or .midi files to get the songs. But again, it’s free and pretty easy.
