Authorities can’t say for sure whether a quarry driver was killed by an exploding cell phone.  But all indications are pointing to the fact that it is the cause.  Until an autopsy is performed and an investigation reveals the truth, the final verdict won’t be rendered.

The driver was found next to his excavator with the melted cell phone in his shirt pocket.  He has suffered burns on his chest, broken ribs, a fractured spine, a damaged heart, and bleeding of the lungs.  A co-worker found the man lying on the ground with blood coming from his nose.  The unnamed battery manufacturer has told sources that the battery should not explode.  They said that it is designed to melt and not explode if a catastrophic malfunction occurs.  You might be interested to know that a Chinese welder was killed earlier this year when his cell phone exploded because of the high heat.
