The driver was found next to his excavator with the melted cell phone in his shirt pocket. He has suffered burns on his chest, broken ribs, a fractured spine, a damaged heart, and bleeding of the lungs. A co-worker found the man lying on the ground with blood coming from his nose. The unnamed battery manufacturer has told sources that the battery should not explode. They said that it is designed to melt and not explode if a catastrophic malfunction occurs.
