LifeGems - Sick or Brilliant?

By admin | Nov 30, 2007

lifegem.jpgSo, you’re at a party.  You strike up a great conversation with a very attractive person of the opposite sex.  You two are just hitting it off and you’re feeling the vibe.  About ten minutes into the conversation, you notice that the person is wearing an amazing diamond ring.  Wanting to keep the moment going, you ask them about the stone.  The other person responds, “Oh, that’s my father.”  Uh, say whaaaaaat!

LifeGem is a company that will turn your carbon remains of a loved one and manufacture a diamond.  Now, for some people, this kind of notion will be utterly revolting.  But, for others, this kind of thing is really a great idea.  One testimonial noted that she loved having her ex-husband on her finger.  That way he couldn’t escape her constant nagging in the netherworld.  I thought that was hilarious.  But other testimonials talk about having a constant reminder of a loved one on their own body.  And it also serves as a conversation starter when people ask about it.  That’s pretty cool.

So, what’s your view.  Do you like this idea or not?
