I don’t know what it is about watches, but I love them. I think it’s the elegance, the precision, and the artistry that watch makers can bring together in such a small device. Well, Tag Heuer has brought together a pretty remarkable time piece that is made especially for sailing enthusiasts.
Here is the spec rundown:
- Chronograph with a resolution of 1/10th of a second.
- Regatta countdown timer.
- Perpetual calendar (nice touch).
- 230 mechanical components
- 5 bi-directional motors
- Water resistant to 300 meters or almost 1,000 feet (which hopefully you won’t need out of a boating watch).
- Scratch resistant Sapphire crystal face.
- Stainless steel case and screw-down caseback.
- Alternately polished and fine-brushed stainless steel bracelet with a double locking clasp, and extension for wearing over a sailing suit.
- Fixed aluminum bezel.
- 41mm case.
- Intuitive chronograph legibility with tenth-of-a-second precision.
- Measurement of simple and intermediary time and two elapsed times.
- Retrograde date with a perpetual calendar to 2099.
- Countdown scale for regattas, configurable as desired from -10 to -1 minute.
- Anti-clockwise movement of central hands in “REGATTA” mode, then clockwise once the countdown is over, as the Chronograph is triggered automatically.
