Luxim Lights Projection Way

Manufacturers are constantly on the look out for more efficient and cost saving improvements to their products.  One such area is in lighting.  Luxim is working on an innovative lighting technology that actually uses RF waves to excite gases into plasma.

The interesting thing about the lighting is the cost per watt and the life length.  They are superior in both respects to other high intensity lighting.  The problem right now is on the size and the cost.

And recent VC cash influx to the tune of $40 million will help Luxim continue its march to a better HID.  The life expectancy for the bulb will last as long as most products they are housed in.  That is partly due to the unique approach to this HID bulb.  Traditional HIDs utilize electrode posts inside the cavity that degrade over time.  Luxim has created a bulb that simply pushes RF waves into the cavity.  Hence, no post degradation.  And that will make manufacturers and consumers very happy.
