I’ve always wondered if folks near the ocean get tired of putting up plywood over their windows.  Can you imagine having to do that a lot?  Anyway, the John Boyle company has come up with an interesting solution to that problem.  And the answer lies with a fabric that is used in bullet proof vests.

So, why in the world would you want to use these curtains?  Well, for starters, they are easy to install, let 76% of the sunlight through, and actually look decent.  “ According to the curtain manufacturer, Storm-A-Rest is approved under the State of Florida’s building code for Wind Zone 4, which includes the area within one mile of the state’s nearly 1,200-mile coastline. The new curtains meet or exceed requirements for winds in excess of 155 mph and for impact from large wind-borne projectiles. It is estimated that 7.3 million homes are within the hurricane zone.”
