If you have technical workers out in the field, you know that they can absolutely destroy computing devices. This is especially true in services that deal with construction. Motion Computing has announced a “semi-rugged” tablet device that looks cool and can do the job. An instant cool feature of the F5 is DataGuard. DataGuard utilizes an internal accelerometer that detects a potential impact and braces the hard drive. The hard drive heads move to a place on the disk that doesn’t contain data. The software may also stop the drive from spinning to reduce damage. Or, you can opt for the solid state drive. No moving parts - no problem. Here is the spec rundown:
