Samsung SC-HMX10 HD Camcorder

Things in the camcorder space have been marching along to HD quality for some time now.  You saw it arrive in the professional space a while ago, but those camcorders were terribly expensive.  Hence, why they were released to professionals.  Now, HD camcorders are trickling down to the average consumer.  The Samsung SC-HMX10 is one such camera that may work for you.

The camera itself is very small – the size of a can of pop.  It fits snugly in your hand, but seems to suffer from short battery life.  Also, you have to realize that editing HD quality video will crush most computers.  You have to get a high end computer to do high end video editing.  Just ask any videographer.  Sure, there are ways to get around that, but if you are wanting to be able to edit HD videos, just know that you may run into problems.  Here are the specs on this gem:

One Response to “Samsung SC-HMX10 HD Camcorder”

  1. Me says:

Nice camera, but just you try to find an editing package that works with it apart from Cyberlink (which is the most unstable POS ever created) that is supplied with it. Also it doesnt use the standard audio codec for AVCHD instead it uses AAC.

Adobe premier nope preview stops dead

Ulead VS 11 and 12 xpro nope audio problems and clip preview doesnt work. Also it looses 2 seconds of sound at the end of each clip.

Pinnacle … nope same as the other preview plays back at 4 seconds per frame even if you record in low res.
