It’s that time of year again. Time to celebrate our dads! It seems that people have a hard time coming up with ideas for dads. Dads love tech. Some like more of the utilitarian items and some like fun and goofy items. So, let’s hit a wide swath!
SmartCast RF35
Loads of dads love to fish. If your dad is a bank fisherman, then he will love this unique gift. It’s the SmartCast RF35 personal fish finder. Now, this is assuredly going to be a big one. Just note that a new version of the iPhone will be coming out soon. So, you may want to give them a card saying that you will purchase it once it is available. In any case, the iPhone is sleek and sexy and would be a fun tool if your dad is into phones. The 8GB version will run you around $399 and the 16GB will run around $499.
Amazon Kindle
The Kindle really is a very cool device. If your dad is an avid reader, man is he going to love this thing! The Kindle utilizes e-Ink for superior readability. If you haven’t seen the screen, you really ought to look at one. I was amazed at how easy on the eyes it was. It holds over 200 titles at a time. You can purchase NY Times bestsellers straight from Amazon for $9.99 a piece. You can read newspapers and such on this. It also has wireless access. It’s the kind that cell phones use and Amazon picks that up! It’s ten ounces and can be read easily in direct sunlight. With wireless off, the Kindle will last a week on one charge. Impressive. That will set you back $359.
Wifi Detector Shirt
If your dad is an uber nerd, you must get him this shirt. It’s the Wifi detector shirt from ThinkGeek. Watch the detector signals come alive when in range of wireless signals. The shirt does require 3 AAA batteries, but the decal can be removed for washing. Nothing says uber geek more than walking into a dark room with wifi near! $29.99.

Some dads just love comfort! This product from Smarthome fits the bill. It’s the plug-in Towel Warmer. Now Dad will be cozy comfy when he comes out of the bath or shower. Especially nice for long mornings where he can go back to bed! $59.99

Who doesn’t like movies? With Netflix Gift certificate, you can choose your price level (from $16.99-$203.88) based on the subscription length. If you want to go a step further, why not grab the Roku Netflix player that delivers Netflix movies straight to the TV! $99 one time purchase (have to have Netflix subscription to access movies).
