I find that most people in this day and age want simplicity.  The Canon LiDE100 flatbed scanner completely fits the bill.  If you have the need for a high end, professional scanner go ahead and move on.  This scanner is not for you.  Heck, the price tag should alert you to that.  But if you want simplicity (don’t we all?), then definitely take a look at this one.

Setup is easy with this scanner because it incorporates USB powering.  That means that you plug it into your computer and there is no power cord.  That’s nice for decluttering the cords.  And I am all for getting rid of unsightly power cords.  Ahh, for the day when we go to wireless electricity (don’t laugh, it’s already on the way!).

The scanner can do 2400 x 4800 resolution scans.  But, again, if you are looking for high end professional graphics scanning, don’t buy this scanner.  The included software is okay – not the best.  But, if you are wanting a pretty fast scanner, that is cheap, easy to setup, and able to 99% of general scanning – this scanner is wonderful!
