I love robots. And I love getting cats riled up. Put those two things together and you can have a nice combo.
Hex Bugs are cool. They don’t do a whole lot, but they are packaged well. Those good looks coupled with a few neat tricks make the Hex Bug Ant a great cat annoyer. It’s not the fastest thing in the world, but it does the job.
Hex Bug also has a crab robot that can be controlled. It also features the inchworm that moves laterally and can spin. That one can be controlled as well. The crab and inchworm will run you around $19 and the Ant costs $9. Yep, cheap. Here’s a video of the Ant bugging some cats:
