A hard drive dock makes storage easier. That because storage demands have gone sky high. And those demands are increasing with rapid fervor. Thermaltake (i love that name!) have a cheap SATA dock that may fit the bill.
The particular model I have pictured here, the ST0005U, is a USB dock model. It features eSATA as well, or external sata. The hard drive dock is hot swap compatible. That means you can pull the drive out when it is operating without harmful effects.
Another cool thing about this SATA hard drive dock is that it supports 2.5 (laptops) and 3.5 (desktops) size hard drives. This could make data recovery for drives super easy. It supports 3Gbps eSATA speeds, and 480Mbps USB transfers. If your computer can handle eSATA, obviously hook it up that way.
This makes hard drives like the floppies of old, except much more handy. Now you can put a drive in and backup all your data. You can also have multiple drives with different operating systems. With the prices of bare hard drives (ie, without enclosures) being so cheap, this is a great solution – especially when it runs around $45!
