The Uniden TRU9466 2 Line Cordless Telephone is a favorite for folks with stricter requirements. It can adopt up to 10 wireless phones for use throughout the home or office. And these don’t require a phone jack. That’s a nice feature.
It does have voicemail support but no answering machine. That is there on purpose for those who don’t want the answering feature. There are phones in the Uniden line that do have the answering machine feature, should you need it.
Adding phones to the base are easy for this 2 line cordless telephone. You simply place the phone in the base for a few seconds, until it reads it. Done. Then you can find a place in your home or office to place the new phone. It’s that simple. You can also use these phones like an intercom system. That may or may not be useful to you. Heck, you could even use one as a baby monitor. Use that, instead of getting a baby monitor that you will throw away.
Each station can store up to 100 names in the phone book. And the phone book, heck really the whole phone, is a lot more like a cell phone than a standard phone. The phone book allows you to store numbers based on name. This is opposed to the standard speed dial which I found pretty useless. Each phone station can have a distinct ring, which is nice if you have each set up for say, each person in your family. I wonder if you could set up voicemail to set it up for specific mailboxes in voice mail.
Each phone can be setup to utilize a separate phone line. That way, you can have one person talking on one line and a 3 way phone conference on line 2. That’s pretty helpful. The base phone allows for hands free speakerphone usage at the touch of a button if you are needing it. Also, you can transfer a call to another handset if you wish.
Most people really like this phone and it’s a pretty good deal at $40 for the base and phone and each additional handset is $30.
