You never know when you will have to ultrasound someone or something. Riding in the subway, and a dog is complaining about its stomach. You whip out the new GE VScan portable ultrasound machine and quickly adduce that the dog has eaten a large rodent. Thanks GE VScan.
Obviously, the VScan has uses outside of my ridiculous scenario, like for doctors in remote areas. Doctors could also have one in their office instead of sending patients off to specialists. Immelt, CEO of GE, and also a great sandwich on rye, didn’t comment on how much the device would cost. He did hint that it may cost $2mil, saying, “it depends if the government is buying the unit.”
Okay, so I just made that up.
