It seems like computer manufacturers are all catching on that we want style along with function. Is that so hard to understand? Dell Zino HD is a pretty neat little device that you would be proud to display – not like most giant pieces of ugly electronic furniture.

As you can see, the Dell Zino HD comes with a lot of connectivity. It has HDMI, eSata, USB, media card reader. It’s hard to see, but you can also get an optional Blu-Ray player. It comes with an Athlon Dual Core processor and an ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics card. The bummer is 2.1 sound. Comes with Windows 7 and 2GB 800 MHZ DDR2 memory. Looks like options can range you in price from around $250-$2000. Obviously, the high number is with everything possible, including a very nice display. Also looks like 8GB ram is possible.

I bought a Zino HD in January this year. Three days ago, it froze in the middle of use and I telephoned Dell for assistance. After nearly 2 hours on the telephone, the operative decided it was a software problem.
Dell then told me I was not covered for that and asked £100 for a subscription. As I am 80 years old, with only a basic income I felt unable to comply. They then offered a one-time consultation for about £40 and reduced it to £30 when I demurred.
I feel that as it is so new, Dell should take a look at it if only to discover if there is a flaw in the system but did not feel I could pay when I was so unsure they would be able to fix it!
Fortunately I have a six-year old Sony running XP and I have decide to use that instead. Goodbye £600 or therabouts.
