KVMs are great. If you don’t know, KVM is a keyboard video mouse switch. They are boxes that you attach that allow you to switch between computers. This way, you can use only one mouse, keyboard, and monitor for multiple computers. Well, Synergy Plus does this as well, but does it through ethernet instead of specialized hardware. Oh, and it’s free – unlike those expensive KVMs.
Not only is Synergy Plus free, it has other features and conveniences that are really nice. First, destkops are seamless. That means that you can simply drag your cursor across the screen and move to the next one. You can also copy and paste between those desktops. Synergy Plus is being actively developed for Mac, Linux, and Windows.
All you have to do is set up the Synergy Plus server on one of your computers. Then you can add the Synergy Plus client to the other computers. Here are 2 videos. The first one simply shows you Synergy Plus in action. The second one shows you how to set it up:
