Samsung 19 Inch Transparent Amoled

Samsung seems to be going full bore at the Oled/Amoled space.  Amoled stands for amorphous organic light emitting diodes.  Samsung’s Sang-Soo Kim, Executive Vice President, had this to say about the upcoming prominence of Amoled:

“”The AMOLED has two strenghts: it is fundamentally simpler than and LCD, and exhibits better display performance…By 2015 AMOLEDs will be a mainstream technology for large-size TVs.”

So, to show their commitment, Samsung just revealed their 19 inch transparent Amoled display.  It can do more than 30% transparency and will probably find itself in car windshields, laptops, and department stores.  Amoled is very low power consumptive and is very durable.  Plus, the response time is in microseconds.  Here is a video of Samsung unveiling a transparent 14 inch Oled screen at CES:
