This just in, Commodore is going to relaunch the C64 to recreate epic fail. In a move to stymie recent retorts that Commodore and Amiga weren’t being irrelevant enough, the companies announced plans to unleash their cooperative forces.
Okay, I know, there is nostalgia in this news. I understand. I have been there, done that. And maybe there is something to say for a design concept that literally looks like something out of the 90′s. Maybe. But now it’s time for a quote:
“Mr. Barry Altman, President and CEO of Commodore USA, LLC states ‘We are ecstatic to be partnering with Amiga Inc. in this new, exciting product launch. The legacy of the Commodore and Amiga trademark brand, reunited once again after so many years, and our reintroduction of the legendary All-In-One computer keyboard form factor, combined with the twenty five year anniversary of the introduction of the first Amiga computer by Commodore International, is a once in a lifetime opportunity.’”
So, there the new system will carry a 2.66GHz Intel Core i7 processor, a 2TB HDD, 4GB DDR3 RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M. I guess now the 64 stands for 64bit. Man, how things change…and yet don’t! Btw, is Commodore the most “unApple” company you have ever seen? Just sayin.
