Hunters have a problem when hunting near dusk. What do you do when the light fades if you have shot, yet not fatally injured your target? That is where the Remington RMBTHL-B blood tracking headlight comes in.

I am not a hunter, but I know people who do. I was totally surprised with this device. I have no idea why I hadn’t thought of this (er, duh, probably b/se I don’t hunt). Anyway, blood tracking headlight do exactly what you think they would. They filter out all other colors so you can see blood very easily. Now, this light isn’t super powerful as a light, but when in tracking mode, it really picks out the blood. Here is a video of the TrophyTrackerLight, so you can see kind of how it works. Of course, it’s hard to pick up the contrast on video, but I think you will get the idea.

Caution: if you are squeamish or offended by hunting scenes, I would skip this video as it shows the actual carcass.

Most of what I post here is practical. As someone used to tell me, “What we need now is an impractical man.” Okay, that was taken waaaaay out of context, but sometimes context must be jettisoned to bring on tactical bleeding zombie targets.

In fact, nothing says, “Merry Christmas” like this for a gift. Imagine your wife’s pleasant surprise at opening the “Zinch.” You can expect an expectant, “Thank You” before she pulls out her Glock and smokes him. And, at only around $100, it’s cheaper than that diamond ring she has been pining for. Seriously, everyone wins here!

Okay, let’s get right to the point – this thing is expensive. Like $500 expensive. So, let’s glory in expensive contraptions. The rubber band gatling gun is one bad, er, toy.

It’s pretty explanatory. Here are the features:

Mounted flashlight. (batteries included)

100 rounds capacity, “shoot as fast as you crank” gatling gun. (2 lbs of rubber bands included)

Gun self-supports with the barrels aligned with the users arm to aid in accuracy

Ships with operators manual, and features a pictorial loading instructions quick-guide.

High grade materials:

Billet Aluminum CNC machined parts (made in USA)

Glossy color Nylon separation cord around the crank

CNC machined Black Delrin handles for comfortable grip and control.

The gun weighs around 20 pounds with the base on it.

And here’s the vid:

Believe it or not, even geeks love to drink beer. Yeah, I know, you imagined them putting mountain dew in a sippy cup in their mother’s basement. Think again inferior human, it’s time you behold Kegbot.

Kegbot says that it is a beer tap monitoring and analysis program. It also says that with it, you can:

instantly know much beer is left in the keg,

share beer with multiple people and track each user’s share,

limit access to kegs and beverage depending on the user, time of day, or other factors,

and much more!

Yeah, so now for the reality. If you are *nix competent, then the software installation is really easy. And then there is the hardware. You will have to add some parts and do some soldering to an Arduino board. The result is can be something like this:

I can still hear that strange, computer derived pulsating beat coming from the arcade box. It was like magic. And I can still feel the pressure of trying to get those little buggers before they get too close. Now you can bring that anxiety nostalgia to any room.

Well, now, for a paltry $38, you can buy that nostalgia and post it in any room. Man, that is capitalistic goodness. The Blik Invader is here. Perfect for any dorm or geek

Yeah, you may have thought about getting an actual Tauntaun for your little star wars obsessed tyke. But make no bones about it. That little kid would be crying gator tears when the jelly peanuts came tumbling out of the Tauntaun’s gut. No, best to go with a fake one like this Tauntaun sleeping bag.

The sleeping bag measures 33-inches x 67-inches. I guess the head is excluded from that measure. Anyway, I want to draw your attention to the light saber attachment to the zipper. Yes, now your wee one can “slice” the Tauntaun down the middle without that unsightly gut spillage. You can pick it up at the Star Wars shop for $99. Did you think no Tauntaun guts wasn’t going to cost you?
