Samsung Muse

A new mobile phone by Samsung was announced these days. Dubbed “Muse” this clamshell is not really a muse and not something I was expecting from Samsung. It has a 2 megapixel camera, a microSD slot for more storage, Bluetooth and GPS, which are quite ordinary with these days mobile phones. One thing made me clap my hands though; it comes with built-in high-speed EVDO connection. Did I mention that it’s going to cost $90 (ninety bucks, yes)? Well maybe it’s not that bad after all but I was expecting more specs inside the new Samsung Muse.

Unfortunately this phone will not let you record and use your ringtone. Also, you can download MP3 files to it but they will only play in analog (mono)and not stereo. The idea here is that they (Altell)are forcing us to buy ringtones and MP3’s from them. I called Altell to see if I could find a way around this but they were uncooperative. If anyone figures out a way to get the thing to play in stereo without buying Altell’s MP3’s let me know. Otherwise, it’s just a phone.
