We’ve been expecting a second smartphone to run Google’s open source operating system, the Android, because up until now the only viable option was T-Mobile’s G1. That’s the reason why they Australians from Kogan decided to come up with a smartphone that runs Android. And they did.

Dubbed Agora, the phone features a 2.5-inch touchscreen (320 x 240 resolution), packs 3G networking, a backlit QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth 2.0 and a microSD card slot while the PRO version adds GPS, Wi-Fi and a 2 megapixel camera.
Both the Agora (AU$299; US$192) and Agora Pro (AU$399; US$256) are available for pre-orders and should be delivered by the end of January. Honestly I’d take my chances. Would you? – via EngadgetMobile
