It seems that Palm Pre is finally making some positive ripples at CES and with its new webOS grabbing all the attention, people are starting to wonder if this is nothing beyond an iPhone clone at some level. To be fair though, there seems to be plenty of work that ahs gone in to the design and the user interface of Palm Pre.

The User Interface is so smooth and simple that it actually outclasses all its competitors and even puts the iPhone to shame. The whole thing works like a charm with swift and easy operation along with plenty of room for multitasking.
You need not close windows in a jiffy worried about it becoming too slow or impossible to operate. It is this along with the previews the UI offers when you zoom out that makes it stand out in terms of user convenience.

The operating system also offers quite a few simple shortcuts for your favorites like Facebook and Google Talk making it popular among those who wish to stay connected. The all new webOS platform is apparently simple and easy and those who already know CSS, HTML and XML will be able to develop for the OS without having to learn any new languages. But for the ordinary user the UI allows you to import contacts directly from social networking sites and messengers, making it a sweet delight.

The keyboard and the device itself look glossy, but the 3.1-inch 24-bit color display is glare-free and that is the part that counts. The final QWERTY keypad might see a few more changes for better look and feel, while the 3.0 megapixel camera is just barely sufficient and is surely not a strong point of the Pre.
All in all, the Palm Pre does better than expected considering with the 8 GB of internal memory and wireless charging being the perks available. One has to wait for this to hit stores to see how it exactly bails out Palm.
