After winning the iF Product Design Award in 2009, BenQ Royal could be closer and closer to being produced. A smartphone slated as a design exercise at first, the candy-styled Royal features powerful functions that got our attention. With a personalized interface and an Internet Live Messenger it can definitely add mobility to your dailly communications. But the actual innovation is a sensor area below the LCD screen, where you press for a page-turning image taht allows you to view albums, music files or e-books. There aren’t many details about the BenQ Royal or if it ever makes it to the market, but design excelence and innovation should be praised. We just love it. [via BenQ]
